Q. Are Securityplus FCU deposit accounts NCUA insured?
A. Yes! The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a division of the National Credit Union Association, insures all Securityplus FCU savings and investments accounts. Accounts are insured to an aggregate of $100,000. IRA's are insured separately to an additional aggregate of $250,000.

Q. How do I set up Direct Deposit of my payroll check?
A. If your employer participates in a direct deposit program, simply contact the Securityplus FCU Call Center at 410-965-8908 (1-866-4SECPLUS, outside the Baltimore area) or visit a Member Service Representative at any branch. Securityplus FCU will provide the routing and transit number which your Human Resources or Payroll department will need to process the direct deposit. Your direct deposit will usually begin within thirty days.

Q. How do I set up Direct Deposit of my Social Security check?
A. First, contact the Securityplus FCU Call Center at 410-965-8908 (1-866-4SECPLUS, outside the Baltimore area) or visit a Member Service Representative at any branch to obtain the routing and transit number. Next, contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-SSA-1213 and provide them the following information: your SSN, the name on your check, your account number at Securityplus FCU, and Securityplus FCU's Routing and Transit number. The SSA will mail you a notice before your Direct Deposit begins.

Q. Can I get information about my account by phone?
A. Yes! ResponseLine is a no-cost automated response service that offers safe and accurate management of your Credit Union accounts. ResponseLine is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To reach ResponseLine, call 410-965-8908, or 1-866-4SECPLUS (outside the area) and select option # 1.

For personal assistance, our Call Center staff can help you with account inquiries, transactions, and even loan applications. The Call Center is open from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday (deposit calls only). The Call Center number is 410-965-8908, or 1-866-4SECPLUS.

Q. What products can I apply for online?
A. Currently, you may apply for most loans online. Check the Products & Services page for updated information.

Q. Can businesses have accounts at Securityplus FCU?
A. At this time, Securityplus FCU does not offer online accounts for businesses. We update our Products and Services section as new accounts are offered so check back with us. If we don't have exactly what you're looking for now, we may add it very soon! To see what we currently offer, check out our Products & Services page.

Q. Does Securityplus FCU offer IRAs online?
A. Currently, Securityplus FCU does not offer IRAs online; however, you can easily request an IRA application via the Securityplus FCU Call Center or through an e-mail. Q. Is interest paid on Securityplus FCU checking accounts?
A. Absolutely! You will earn dividends on your checking account if you maintain a balance of $500 or more. All that is required to open a Securityplus FCU checking account is a minimum deposit of $50. If you want a checking account that pays a market rate of interest, simply contact the Securityplus FCU Call Center at 410-965-8908 (1-866-4SECPLUS, outside the Baltimore area) or visit a Member Service Representative at any branch location.

Q. Can I open an account if I don't live in the United States? What if I live in the United States but am not a citizen yet?
A. As long as you meet the qualifications for membership described in our membership guidelines, which include a valid U.S. tax identification number (Social Security Number), you may be eligible for membership in Securityplus FCU. If you have questions, contact us. We'd like to hear from you.

Q. Can I do all of my banking with Securityplus FCU?
A. Yes! Thanks to the convenience of Direct Deposit, ATMs, 6 local branches, an NCO location, and e-Banking; everyday-banking activities can be performed with Securityplus FCU. Contact us with questions about your financial needs.

Q. Can I look at all of my transactions at any time?
A. Yes! With e-Banking, you have access to your account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Q. How frequently is my Securityplus FCU account information updated?
A. Securityplus FCU updates all customer information at the time of transaction. Whether you access our e-Banking site or visit our member service department, your account information is updated immediately to reflect all account activity. NOTE: ATM transactions may not appear on your account for two business days.

Q. Are wire transfers possible to and from my Securityplus FCU checking account?
A. Yes! Funds can be transferred to and from Securityplus FCU accounts by wire transfer or via ACH (Automated Clearing House) debits or credits. Contact our Call Center at 410-965-8908 (1-866-4SECPLUS, outside the Baltimore area) or visit a Member Service Representative at any branch for details.

Q. How do I make a deposit to my account from a remote location?
A. You can do most of your banking by using direct deposit, Securityplus FCU ATMs or ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions. Securityplus FCU also offers a bank-by-mail service, which allows you to mail non-recurring deposits. Contact us for details on a method that's best for you.

Q. What is the Securityplus FCU VISA® Check Card?
A. The Securityplus FCU VISA Check Card is a card that allows members to:
  • Access their funds through ATMs and Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals
  • Make purchases anywhere VISA® is accepted - it works like an electronic check.
  • Make cash advances at any financial institution that accepts VISA
Q. What is the difference between the Securityplus FCU ATM card and the Securityplus FCU VISA Check Card?
A. The Securityplus FCU ATM card can be used at any STAR, VISA®, PLUS, AMEX, Cirrus, Discover and Quest ATM for funds access or at any STAR Point-Of-Sale terminal for purchases. The Securityplus FCU ATM card can be used at any ATM or POS terminal, which displays the STAR, PLUS, VISA or American Express logos. Cash withdrawals and POS purchases are up to a limit of $510 per day.

The Securityplus FCU VISA Check Card can be used for funds access at any ATM displaying the STAR, PLUS, VISA, AMEX, Cirrus, Discover or Quest logo and for purchases at any merchant displaying the VISA logo. Purchases are for what's available in the member's checking account up to a maximum of $2,500 per day (includes overdraft protection options) or a 3-business day aggregate of what's available in the member's checking account, up to a maximum of $4,000. In addition, the Securityplus FCU VISA Check card can be used to perform all the transactions at Securityplus FCU ATMs that the current Securityplus FCU ATM Card can handle (withdrawals, deposits, inquiries, transfers, loan payments, etc.). At non-Securityplus FCU ATMs, the Securityplus FCU VISA Check Card can only be used for cash withdrawals and inquiries.

Q. Can I select my own PIN # for my Securityplus FCU VISA Check Card?
A. Currently, the STAR System, which processes the Check Card transactions, does not allow members to select their own PIN #. If this capability does present itself in the future, we will implement this change immediately.
