Securityplus Supports Students and Community Members at BCCC's 3rd Annual Summer Palooza & Health Fair

On July 22, Securityplus Federal Credit Union had the privilege of joining Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) for its 3rd Annual Summer Palooza & Health Fair, an event that brought together students, educators, community organizations, and service providers for a day focused on connection, opportunity, and support.

From the moment attendees arrived, the atmosphere reflected the spirit of community that defines both BCCC and Securityplus. With students preparing for the upcoming academic year, families seeking resources, and community partners eager to share services, the event served as a powerful reminder that success is built through collaboration.

This year's Summer Palooza & Health Fair welcomed 253 attendees, representing a 21% increase over the previous year and making it the most successful event to date. Throughout the day, participants explored resources related to health and wellness, employment opportunities, education, and community support services, all designed to help individuals thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

For Securityplus, the event was about more than sharing information about financial services. It was an opportunity to listen, engage, and help community members better understand the financial tools available to support their personal goals. Community Impact Coordinator Danielle Warren and Membership Development Officer Sheryl Phelps connected with students and attendees, discussing everything from everyday banking needs to long-term financial wellness strategies.

"Securityplus Federal Credit Union is honored to partner with Baltimore City Community College and participate in this impactful event," said Danielle Warren, Community Impact Coordinator at Securityplus Federal Credit Union. "We believe that financial education and community engagement play a critical role in empowering individuals to achieve their goals. It was inspiring to connect with so many students and community members who are committed to building brighter futures."

Those conversations reinforced an important truth: financial well-being is a key part of student success. Whether someone is opening their first account, learning to manage a budget, or planning for future milestones, access to trusted guidance can make a meaningful difference. By meeting students where they are and providing resources tailored to their needs, Securityplus continues its commitment to helping individuals build confidence on their financial journey.

Events like Summer Palooza demonstrate the power of partnerships in creating stronger communities. BCCC's leadership in bringing together organizations from across Baltimore provides students and community members with direct access to resources that can positively impact their educational, professional, and personal lives.

Securityplus is proud to support initiatives that promote student well-being, financial empowerment, and community development. As attendance and engagement continue to grow, we look forward to strengthening our partnership with Baltimore City Community College and finding new ways to support students throughout the academic year.

When communities come together with a shared commitment to opportunity and growth, everyone benefits. We are grateful to BCCC for creating spaces where connections are made, resources are shared, and brighter futures begin.
